1999-10-23 - 02:16 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 1999 Dearest Beloved, Never did it take me so long to the simple task of doing laundry as it unfortunately did today. When I returned from slaving away at the Laundromat, I found Pic “N” Slave on the caller-id. I, of course, being considerate, returned the call, and I explained to Jesse how I was incredibly pleased that I was off on the day I had to go my cousins’ birthday party. I later called again to check my new schedule, but all I got was an annoying Sal. He wanted me to forget about my cousin’s quinceañera and go to work because some fool called in sick and it was very busy. I utterly refused and reminded him that even though my family can be a pain in the ass, they are somehow more important than work, for now. Although I didn’t dance or kiss too much ass at the party, I did manage to have some fun. The party actually distracted me here and there and it would have been a quasi-joyful evening only if Sal didn’t make me feel guilty for choosing my family over work. I am already planning my future outing into the world. The only thing more terrifying than the real world—knowing that this will be my reality for a long time. Hey, what’s that behind you? Fighting evil by moonlight.
